NDIS Registered Occupational Therapists Brisbane

Vista Healthcare is a registered provider for NDIS, and we assist patients who are eligible for equipment funding.

We can assist with submitting equipment request forms, as well as obtaining funding for clinically necessary equipment.

We have experience dealing with complex assistive technology (AT) request forms and can manage any feedback from the NDIS that might arise.

In situations where multiple types of equipment may be required, we collaborate with equipment suppliers to conduct trials with patients before making any purchases.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Kristine Santos

Kind and Professional

Jacob from Vista Healthcare is a kind and professional occupational therapist. He has helped our son with ASD in being more independent and confident with his day-to-day living skills. Jacob is a great match for our son who is generally very selective on therapists that he would open and warm up to. Jacob is a credit to Vista Healthcare.

Care and Compassion

Robina and her team have been providing in home Physio for my 91 year old mother for the past 18 months. The level of care and compassion is outstanding. They have navigated her needs during the pandemic with the utmost of professionalism, ensuring her mobility was not compromised and her health enhanced. The home visits take pressure off our family as balancing all her appointments, care and full time work is at times impossible. Knowing we can relax and not have to worry about her physio needs, provides great peace of mind. We cannot thank them all enough and have no hesitation in recommending the services.

Kind and Caring

I have worked alongside Robina and the Vista Healthcare Team for well over two years now and I can't praise them enough! They are kind, professional, caring and extremely knowledgeable in their field. It has been a pleasure working alongside them in taking care of the staff and residents at Fitzgerald Aged Care.

Steve and Sam

Highly Professional

I would just like to thank Robina for the very generous advice that she gave me yesterday. There most definitely was an opportunity for her company to take financial advantage of my situation however she displayed a highly professional and ethical standard and I valued her honest and genuine opinion. While we now have no need for her services (thanks to her advice), I would most certainly consider approaching Vista Healthcare in the future. Many thanks and best wishes.

Jenny Luke

Great Service

We have been using Vista Healthcare for a while and are very happy with the service they provide. Robina, the physio is amazing and we are so grateful for the work she has been doing with my husband.

Occupational Therapy Brisbane FAQ

  • Who can access Vista Healthcare's services?

    We work with:

    • NDIS participants
    • Homecare package clients
    • Private paying individuals
    • Workcover, CDP, DVA, STRC
    • Residential aged care

Vista Healthcare is able to help children, adults (over 18) and older adults.

We have extensive experience servicing the aged care sector.

  • Is Occupational Therapy a one-off or ongoing?

We support clients with one-off scenarios (such as providing a single piece of assistive equipment – such as a walker), though in many cases, we adopt an ongoing role.

This is stipulated during our initial consultation.

Each client has varying needs, circumstances, goals and funding limitations. From this, we compose a healthcare support plan that all parties consent to. This includes calculating long term costs, equipment trial periods, reassessments and equipment review periods.

In complex cases, clients receive a combination of both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services from us.

We discuss these solutions with the client and formalise a plan so everyone is aware of what to expect.

  • What happens if I am moving house or my requirements change?

It is common for patients to move properties.

In the event you are changing homes, please notify us as soon as possible, ideally before you move in!

Our Occupational Therapists Brisbane will conduct an environmental assessment of the new property and help plan the transition. This is primarily ensuring the new property is safe and enables independent living.

For example, a person that is deaf may be using a camera system to see when visitors arrive at the front door, and this system must be migrated to the new property.

  • Do I need a referral to see an Occupational Therapist in Brisbane?

Private clients, NDIS participants & Home Care clients do not need a referral to engage our services. Many of our clients, however, are referred to us directly from their GP.

For clients accessing our services through organisations such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Chronic Disease Management or Worker’s Compensation, a GP referral will be required. There will also be additional administrative requirements in these cases, which we can assist with.

  • How do your Occupational Therapists help people participate in daily or social life?

This is quite a variable answer.

When working with pediatrics with disabilities, these families are often looking for behavioural management and emotional support. We introduce play that develops fine motor skills, suggest clothing with large zippers, prescribe modified cutlery, practice language skills, etc. All of these facets contribute to developing life skills and living independently.

In the adult and aged care sector, a common goal is to access the community again. Our Occupational Therapists Brisbane would then engage with the client and their carers to establish ways to do this confidently and safely, perhaps through the use of a motorised scooter and lowering fatigue levels.

We play a role in engaging other providers in the community as well, to create the best possible outcomes for each client.
